About The Event
High Voltage is proud to celebrate Give 8/28, the National Day of Giving for Black-led nonprofits during Black Philanthropy Month. Our goal is to raise $828 to support Legacy Lines, our intergenerational creative-aging project, update our technology and website, provide meals for 100 seniors and do a holiday outreach.
Founded in 2003, High Voltage is a volunteer-driven organization committed to providing educational and recreational programs for youth, families, and senior citizens. Through intergenerational initiatives, we work to strengthen well-being, connection, and opportunity across our community.
Legacy Lines is a six-week program that introduces New Orleans seniors to journaling and drawing. Participants use mixed-media techniques to document personal memories, cultural traditions, and family histories.
This year’s Give 8/28 theme honors the people, partnerships, and shared commitment that make lasting change possible. From nonprofit leaders and volunteers to donors, advocates, and community champions, every act of generosity helps strengthen our communities.
