volunteer

High Voltage posts volunteer opportunities on the Hands on New Orleans, TapRoot Foundation, VolunteerLouisiana and VolunteerMatch websites.  Once we receive notice of your interest to volunteer with High Voltage, we will send you a volunteer application.

Steps to Volunteering with High Voltage: 

​

    1. Please complete the volunteer application. 

​

    2. Our Volunteer Manager will reach out about completing a background check and attending a virtual volunteer training.  

​

    3. Once an "all clear" is received from your background check, you will complete a volunteer training and be scheduled to volunteer with High Voltage!

 

High Voltage also works with volunteers from AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana, colleges, corporations, schools, universities, Immanuel Community Church, the Junior League of Greater New Orleans, Kiwanis International and the Young Marines to provide volunteers required community service hours.

Board member responsibilities may include the following: 

​

  • Participating in raising funds and resources to assist High Voltage in carrying out its mission 

​

  • Advising on long and short -term planning 

​

  • Observing the management of the affairs and ascertaining that it is done in a businesslike, responsible and efficient manner 

​

  • Assisting in the promotion of the program through the media to the community 

​

  • Participating in reports to the community on programs and services 

​

  • Convening at least three times in a year (January, April and October) in the State of Louisiana 

​

  • Maintaining records of all official proceedings 

​

  • Total time commitment per month five-ten hours per month

​​
